Featured Boat of the Week

April 12, 2010

Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle has listed a unique and fascinating vessel for sale — a 1984 Gulf Craft constructed from 0.1875-0.25 inch marine-grade aluminum.  This 56’ Aluminum Pilothouse Trawler was originally constructed as a crew boat and designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the offshore oilfield business. After a yacht conversion she now combines the best of both worlds — comfortable and roomy accommodations aboard a vessel built for rugged service.

Why Aluminum? Aluminum yachts are lightweight, strong, corrosion resistant, and non-flammable. The ease of workability, welding and handling make aluminum hulls economical. Aluminum makes great sense for a long-range cruiser where safety, comfort and ruggedness are primary concerns. Simply put — this is a commercial grade material for a commercial-grade vessel.
